Church on the Rock exists to glorify God by leading all people to faith in Jesus Christ and to grow them up to worship and serve Him.
We summarize our Mission Strategy by simply stating “we are a gospel centered community” that seeks to accomplish our vision by inviting, connecting, teaching, serving, sending and going.
The body of believers at Church on the Rock, agree that the following ministry priorities constitute an accurate statement of our core values. This list is not a statement of faith, but an affirmation of the basic principles upon which our ministry is to be built:
1. The Centrality of Jesus
In every aspect of our ministry, the priority will always be to honor and to glorify the Lord Jesus, the living, risen Head of the body who is now exalted at the right hand of the Father.
2. The Inerrancy of Scripture
The authority of our ministry comes from the word of God as we submit ourselves to its precepts, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires us to be.
3. The Ministry of Prayer
Our ministry must be under girded by individual and corporate prayer or else there can be no reason to anticipate the attending power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our ministry.
4. An Atmosphere of Grace
God is holy and absolutely sovereign and we believe that nothing good happens outside His grace and unmerited favor toward us. As a result, we want to express the same grace toward one another.
In obedience to Christ command to make disciples, we will always seek to fulfill the great commission of making disciples by proclaiming Christ to the world.
We believe once a person comes to faith in Christ, it is necessary for new believers to be taught the word of God in order to grow to spiritual maturity.
Integrity in the lives of our members requires that we provide a context for accountability relationships. We believe we are to hold one another accountable to living a life worthy of the calling that we have received.
God has called us to be stewards of the things he has entrusted to our care. We must be faithful to use our time, talents and treasures in a manner that would glorify him, knowing that we will give an account of our stewardship when we stand before him.
9. A Focus on Faithfulness not Fruitfulness
God has called us to serve him faithfully. We believe that as we are faithful, God will determine our fruitfulness.
